Fr. Joseph Fessio, SJ

Founder and editor of Ignatius Press, friend and former student of Pope Benedict XVI (then Professor Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger), Father Joseph Fessio, S.J., is an internationally recognized speaker and a longtime leader in Catholic higher education. He recently launched a groundbreaking, international college-credit program for Catholic high school students, homeschoolers and others.

The program, called the Ignatius-Angelicum Liberal Studies Program, is a joint project of Ignatius Press and Angelicum Great Books Program, a longstanding provider of homeschooling and other liberal arts materials. Father Fessio serves as Chancellor of the new online LSP program. Ignatius Press, a Catholic publishing company well known for its dedication to publishing trustworthy Catholic literature, is the primary U.S. publisher of Pope Benedict’s many works and Catholic World Report.

Father Fessio’s previous academic positions include founding and serving as the first Director of the St. Ignatius Institute of the University of San Francisco and Provost of Ave Maria University in Florida.
